Seeking: Volunteer leaders
224 North London Air Scouts, based in Highgate/East Finchley, is looking for enthusiastic adults to
join its volunteer team and help run fun, adventurous sessions for children aged six to ten, including games, crafts, outdoor adventures and community projects.
Experience necessary: None, just a sense of fun and a willingness to get involved. DBS check will be provided
Commitment: Everything helps, whether you can give an hour a week, help at events, or lend
a hand behind the scenes.

Description: All types of help needed for research, liaising with local shops to take in items for recycling/reusing, web and social media updates and project managing.

Seeking: Stewards, parade stewards and raffle ticket sellers
Description: We require dozens of helpers during the day of the festival working in shifts. If you can spare an hour to help out, please get in touch!
Based: On-site over festival weekend.
Experience necessary: Basic IT skills preferred
Commitment: A few hours per week from October 2025. Will need to be available on Sunday 21 June 2026.

Finchley Food Bank

Seeking: Digital helper
Description: Finchley Foodbank is looking for a new kind of volunteer to help people with all things digital e.g. searching the internet, sending emails, or booking appointments. You will signpost people to help with the cost of living, employment, housing etc. The Foodbank team has resources for you to use and will be there to support you!

Experience/skills necessary: Computer literate
Commitment: You will need to be available for foodbank sessions on Tuesdays and/
or Saturdays at 11.30am-2pm twice a month

Long Lane Pasture

Seeking: New volunteers
Description: Long Lane Pasture is a 2.6 acres wild meadow which has remained largely undisturbed for centuries. It was purchased in 1912 for ‘public entertainment and enjoyment’ and is a registered charity. We are a group of enthusiastic volunteers who are always on the look-out for like-minded people who would like to volunteer two hours of their time on a Saturday morning between 10 and 12 noon. The benefits are the joy of spending time outside in lovely surroundings and getting involved in the maintenance of the pasture throughout the year as well as witnessing all the hard work paying off in terms of seeing plants and trees thrive and the amount of wildlife attracted to the pasture. Come on down one Saturday and see what its all about. Also check out our website. You’ve got nothing to lose!

Number Champions

Seeking: Volunteers to help children with numeracy
Description: based in N2, Number Champions is an award-winning charity that helps young primary school children who are struggling with numeracy or lack confidence in maths. Its trained in-school volunteers use games and other creative activities in one-to-one sessions with children. 
Experience/skills necessary: Good basic numeracy and plenty of enthusiasm. The charity is especially looking for local volunteers. 
Commitment: 1.5 hours/week during term time

Seeking: Advertising manager
Description: Sales person to be part of a team handling and processing advertising in a monthly community newspaper. Answering queries, processing orders, liaising with design and accounts depts. No cold-calling required.

Experience/skills necessary: Previous customer-facing experience and basic IT skills preferred
Commitment: A few hours per month.
