Sustainability

From REEF (Regeneration and Enhancement of East Finchley)’s attempt to rid N2 of plastic carrier bags in 2007, to an entire group – No2PlasticsN2 – dedicated to reducing single-use plastics, East Finchley has led the way on sustainability. Even East Finchley Festival has got in on the act by becoming carbon-neutral.

What can you do?

The East Finchley Sustainability Forum on Facebook is a great place for sharing tips.
You can re-home and re-use pre-loved items on East Finchley-share-swap-reuse-recycle Facebook group and a whole host of other local buying and selling groups. See Socials for details.

Recycling

Both Barnet and Haringey Councils operate door-to-door recycling collections. And for those awkward items that would otherwise end up in landfill, from crisp packets to toothbrushes, East Finchley-based initiative Bin There Donate That has the answer.

Where can I recycle…
