Saturday 10th September 2022, 11am.
This will be a chance to find out a bit about the history of East Finchley and see how easy it is to walk to the village centre away from the main roads. This guided walk, led by Town Team member Roger Chapman, will start at 11am at the Manor Park Road side of the tube underpass that links across to Trinity Road. Location here.
Here we will find out about the sad death of a young boy – the reason why the underpass exists. The group will then follow the Walks – an ancient walking route through the middle of the “Old Village” hearing about Highwaymen, woodland and commons, the weekly hog market and more, before hitting our wonderful High Road with plenty of cafés, shops, and facilities to enjoy.
We should finish no later than 12.30pm.
